Zeta Iola Alexander
Zeta Iola Alexander, age 91, a resident of Brookridge in Atlantic, passed on at the Heritage House on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2003. Zeta was born the daughter of Raymond and Myrtle (Berry) Neal on September 25, 1911, in Randolph County, Nebraska. She grew up in Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School here.Zeta Married Don Alexander July 15, 1943 in Tyler, Texas and later worked at Spurgeon's clothing store in Atlantic while Don was serving in the military in England and France. Among other places in Southern California, the couple lived in Pasadena, Whittier and LaHabra, California. Zeta was celebrated as a fifty-year member of the Eastern Star.She is survived by her husband, Don; one sister-in-law, Mildred Ginter of Alhambra, California; one nephew, Don Linke and his wife Colleen of Excelsior, Minnesota; a great-nephew, Adam Linke of New York, New York; a great niece, Samantha Linke of Plymouth, Minnesota and cousins, Marge McDermott of Walnut, Iowa, Jim Kirk of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Bob Miller and his wife Doris of Dublin, Georgia and Doris Barnard of Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Virginia Janet Linke.Roland Funeral Service Atlantic, IowaFuneral InformationA memorial service was held at the United Church of Christ in Atlantic on Friday, April 4, 2003, at 2:30 P.M. Services included an Eastern Star ceremony by Golden Rule chapter 194. Roland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
